SUBMISSION GUIDELINES
Short Story: Please send one story, maximum 5000 words, as a Word attachment. Please also include the word count in the document.
Poetry: You may submit up to four poems. Please include all poems in one document, as a Word attachment. (Currently closed for submissions).
Art and Photography: Submit a maximum of four pieces.
Please submit high resolution images as JPEG files. Please also include the title and a short description about the work in the body of your email.
Island Lit welcomes submissions from international writers of any background, including first-time writers.
All poetry and short story submissions should be previously unpublished (this includes websites, personal blogs etc.). Submissions should be in English, but may be translations (copyright permission is the responsibility of the translator).
Art and photography submissions should be previously unpublished, however, they can have appeared on social media.

Simultaneous submissions are accepted, but please notify us should your work be accepted elsewhere.
Please include a bio (max 50 words) in the body of your email.
Please note that we cannot offer feedback on unsuccessful submissions.
There is no reading/submission fee.
Unfortunately, Island Lit isn’t in a position to pay contributors at the moment.
You retain the rights to your work, however we can use your work in upcoming features etc. Please credit us in future with first publication of the piece.
